Keeping the ARTS alive at Lake of the Ozarks

Our Mission

Our Mission is to serve, educate and enrich our community through the Arts.

It is truly an honor to be the leader of this group of art enthusiasts who strive each day to present the arts in a lively manner to the communities in which we live. Why the ARTS? Because art helps us express our values, build cultural bridges and fosters a closely knit community. We seek out, plan and present both performing and visual art events for the enlightenment and enjoyment of our Lake area citizens and visitors.
The Visual Arts Committee led by Vice-president, Mary Andeline, is busy with planning several exhibits. The Junior Duck Stamp exhibit will be on display for public viewing at all the local libraries in February and March. Watch the newspapers and our website calendar for times and locations. The Palm Sunday Art Show is scheduled to be held at the Quality Inn in Lake Ozark on March 20. This is the third year that the LAC has created and hosted this wonderful local juried art exhibit. Judging the entries this year is Lyn Phariss. Keep watching this site for more details and entry forms. In April the Student Arts and Photo Quest will showcase many of our tri-county area’s student artists and their teachers.
The Performing Arts Committee, Julie Lentz, Vice President is laying plans for a wonderful season of very diverse performing arts programs. Coming in March is a production by terrific local talent in the annual Variety Showcase. The Harmonium Brass Ensemble will entertain in April, and the ever popular Missouri Symphony Orchestra directed by Kirk Trevor is returning with some surprises for us in June. The Missoula Children’s Theatre always turns July into merriment for 60 children as they learn and perform “The Jungle Book”. Along the way we hope to find “Sparkie” teaching her clowning ways to “want-a-be clowns”.
Community support of our programs is essential to our work, not only the dollars that allow us to bring the arts before the community; but also, very importantly, the manpower necessary to execute our programs. We are always looking for committee members to join us. The standing committees are: Communications, Financial/Fundraising, Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Event Coordination.
Call us at 573-964-6366 to tell us of your desire to join us.
